Classic Halloween Decor
If you’re looking for high impact halloween decor on a budget, you’ll love these ideas. I’ve always loved classic halloween decor and I find that there are a few staples I put out every single year. These items are super inexpensive, timeless, and will make a spooky statement for years to come.
Creepy Cloth
Buy yourself some creepy cloth! There are endless uses for it and it’s super inexpensive. This year, I draped white creepy cloth over our dining room chandelier for a ghostly effect. I also use it on top of table, draped on bookshelves, and over outdoor light fixtures.
Fake Ravens
Swipe a dead tree branch from your neighbors yard and add fake ravens to it for a super high impact accent to any surface. I also tuck these ravens into bookshelves, perch them on top of pumpkins, and even string them from the ceiling.
Witch Hats
Witch hats are surprisingly versatile. Not only will your kids have a blast trying them on and cackling through the house for a few days, but you can also string them up from the ceiling using fishing line. They’ll look like they’re magically floating in air. This year, I strung them up above our kitchen peninsula and added hanging moss. You can also hang these outside under a porch and add battery operated lights inside.
Cloches
Glass cloches are a great way to display any spooky items you may have. I found the ones above at Target for $5 each (they’re actually plastic) and I plan to use them for Christmas this year as well. I’ve been big beautiful cloches at the thrift store many times as well. They give off the perfect spooky apothecary vibes and creative a focal point for your decor.
Battery Operated Candles
I love candles for Halloween, but I have a hard time trusting an actual flame - especially inside bookshelves or anywhere they could be knocked over. This year we bought battery operated taper and pillar candles. These candles layered in with halloween decor created the perfect spooky ambiance for parties or scary movie nights. The best part is that they all turn on with a remote, so no need to light 20 candles individually to achieve the same effect.
